Ways to Offer Dana
If you wish to support my meditation and practice, offerings may be made through any of the following:
Dana (Pali: “giving”) is one of the most essential practices on the path of awakening. It is the deliberate cultivation of generosity — a way of softening the grasping mind and opening the heart. Through dana, we learn to let go, to support what nourishes us, and to participate in the flow of kindness that sustains the Dharma.
In the Buddhist tradition, my meditation coach practice is offered freely. It is not sold as a commodity, because the Dharma is considered priceless. Instead, meditators are invited to respond with generosity according to their own capacity. Dana becomes a conscious act of appreciation, a way of honouring the meditation and helping ensure they continue to be available for others.
There is no fixed amount and no expectation. Each person reflects on what the teachings mean to them, what they can offer, and what feels aligned with their heart. A simple guideline is to consider what one might contribute for a secular class or session of similar length — but ultimately, dana is a personal expression of sincerity and gratitude.
Offering dana at the beginning of a meditation can help establish a clear intention: to make the most of the opportunity, to deepen one’s practice, and to dedicate the benefit to all beings.
Dana is ultimately a practice of connection — a way of supporting the conditions for awakening in yourself and in others. Every offering, no matter the size, is received with gratitude.
